University rector Alfred Vella recently presented certificates of achievement to 145 students who successfully completed one or more units forming part of its Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (PLAS) during the 2017-18 academic year.
Four students were also awarded the Certificate in Liberal Studies, while others will be receiving the Higher/Diploma and the Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies in the November graduation ceremonies.
PLAS units consist of weekly evening lectures held between 6 and 8pm, normally spread over 14 weeks. Applicants may choose as many units as they wish.
The Centre for the Liberal Arts and Science (CLAS) is currently accepting applications for PLAS units during the first semester of the forthcoming academic year (October 2018 to January 2019). The subjects being offered include Maltese Archaeology, History, Geography, Legal System, History of Art, Public Health, Russian Opera, and Blockchain.
A series of PLAS Tech Units on Java Development, 3D Modelling, and Smart Contract Programming are also being offered in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science.
