The annual Rock in the Forest concert is back for its seventh edition with an eclectic programme of classic, modern and contemporary rock hits. The event, which raises funds for various causes, will this year feature 16 local singers and musicians covering some of the most well-loved rock legends.

Among the names that are expected to be covered this year are Queen, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Muse, Kings of Leon, Linkin Park, Kula Shaker, David Bowie, Guns n’ Roses and more.

This year will mark the return of popular guest singer Gianni Zammit and a first-time appearance by guitarist Wayne Camilleri. Other singers include Georgius Mifsud (Shades of Green), Simaria Galea (X Factor Malta), Diane Micallef (ex Corkskrew), David Ellul Mercer, Sarah De’Marco and Jean Elle Newell.

The Rock in the Forest core band features event founder David Perotti (guitars, vocals), Kristina Perotti (drums), guitarists Carl Tanti, Georgius Mifsud, Daniel Debono, Wayne Camilleri and Mario Saliba, bassist Cliff Smith and drummer Franco Aloisio (both ex-Corkskrew) and keyboardist Sergio Bellizzi.

“I am proud to have seen this event, which started out in my backyard with my kids and a few friends, grow so much. We eventually moved to Chateau Buskett, which gave birth to the official name, and through the years we have managed to raise a significant amount for various NGOs. These last few years have seen hundreds of people attending our concerts, and this year we promise another show to be remembered,” David Perotti said.

The event takes place on August 25 at Chateau Buskett, and this year’s proceeds will go towards the Assistance to Children in Care Association (ACICA). More information and tickets are available online.
