Premier League or Serie A? For years, sports fans had to have two separate TV subscriptions if they wanted to watch it all, but with the launch of the Total Sports Network this will now be a thing of the past.

However, it does mean that the gloves are coming off when it comes to illegal streaming.

The Malta Communications Authority was a main player in talks between GO and Melita on offering a joint service. In the past the two providers bid against each other for the content, driving up their own costs and frustrating subscribers.

But the authority is now establishing regulations to curb illegal TV content streaming in public places.

"Local restaurants, hotels, bars and other catering establishments are encouraged to protect their brand and reputation by ensuring that they only publicly broadcast content from legal sources," it warned.

Total Sports Network includes the English Premier League, FA Cup, Italian Serie A, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Spanish La Liga, German
Bundesliga, and BOV Premier League. TSN will also provide other sports including Formula 1, Moto GP, Rugby and Wimbledon tennis.
