Obituaries

CINI. On August 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, EVELYN, aged 79, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Charles and France and his wife Marthese, her sisters Lucy, Rose and Ritchie and her husband Mario, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, August 11, at 8am for St Francis Church, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Żabbar Cemetery. Rather than flowers, donations in her memory to Hospice Movement would be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

DE MAUNY WAINWRIGHT – ELIZABETH MARY LOIS, née Bower. Died peacefully at Eastbourne District General Hospital on August 3, 2018, aged 85, after an illness bravely borne. Dearly loved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A requiem Mass will be held at Christ the King, Burwash, East Sussex, TN19 7HA, on August 23 at noon. Family flowers only. GALEA. On August 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, YVONNE, née Azzopardi Castaldi, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Martin and his partner Solange, Alaine and her husband John, Karen, and Paul, her grandchildren Max, George, Philip, Dominic, Serena, Charlotte, Hannah and Emily and her great-grandson John, Vanessa, her sister Rosemary and her husband Norman Vincenti, her sisters-in-law Terry Zammit Tabona, and Winnie Cassar, her brother-in-law Joseph Galea and his wife Rose, her nephews and nieces, and many friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Monday, August 13 at 9am at St Julians parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family wish to thank her carer Vangi, the doctors, nurses and all staff at Mater Dei Hospital who were so attentive and caring during her final days.

RUGGIER. On August 8, at her residence in Żabbar, ANNA, former employee of Allied Newspapers Limited, aged 79, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Madre Tarcisia of the Ursuline Sisters, her brothers Alfred of Canada and Edgar, nephews and nieces, grand nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, August 11, at 7.45am for Our Lady of Divine Grace Sanctuary, Żabbar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, or the Ursuline Crèche, Guardamangia, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF TRIGONA – ZGI. Cherished memories of a wonderful husband and father on the 38th anniversary of his death. Doris, Marcy and Joe, Michael and Marie, and his six grandsons.

PARASCANDALO – CARMELO. Everlasting and treasured memories of a never forgotten father, today the 21st anniversary of his demise. Deeply missed and always in our hearts. Mary Rose, Lawrence, Ninette, Josette and Anna, in-laws and grandchildren.

SAID – FRANCIS. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Marie Louise, in-laws Joe Olivieri, Rosanna Said and grandchildren.
