The 10th August Pyrotechnic Association is organising its annual La Notte di San Lorenzo, a spectacular fireworks display held at Grand Harbour.
The event, scheduled for August 9 from 10pm onwards, is part of the celebrations in honour of St Lawrence, patron saint of Vittoriosa, and is being organised in collaboration with Total Management Solutions.
La Notte di San Lorenzo is now in its 10th edition, and the organisers are planning an unforgettable experience for those attending.
The ideal viewing location will be from next to the Vittoriosa Regatta Club, where music will accompany the fireworks. As a prelude to the display, the Associazione Culturale Musicale Bandistica – Synphonica Citta di Viagrande from Italy will entertain the crowds with music.

The display will kick off with fireworks synchronised to Kewkba, a Maltese ballad by Janice Mangion, and Katchi by Ofenbach vs Nick Waterhouse. The songs will be followed by a variety of traditional multi-break crackered and coloured shells.
Halfway through the show will be another pyro-musical display, this time set to the beat of More than You Know by Axwell Ingrosso.
The event will conclude with a spectacular display, From Broadway to the Grand Harbour, set to a medley of songs from musicals and films including West Side Story, Staying Alive, Chess, School of Rock and Footloose. After the event, ground fireworks may be admired from in front of the St Lawrence Church.
The feast celebrations will culminate the following day, August 10, when Vittoriosa celebrates its patron saint. More traditional fireworks will accompany the celebrations and the procession as it makes its way along the winding streets of the city until it re-enters the parish church at around 11pm.
