Ecovis Malta has launched a cloud-based platform which integrates the use of applications according to the specific requirements of the client. Branded as ‘Ecovis Online’, the platform acts as a solution that consolidates and centralises all financial applications on one system, thus enabling its use for multiple functions such as invoicing, banking transactions, accounting, exchange rates, business intelligence, as well as operational and financial reporting.

Patrick Bezzina, chief technology officer at Ecovis Malta, stated that Ecovis Online was developed “with the aim of offering the latest technology in financial software in one secure environment linked to existing systems, and for the purpose of automating book-keeping and accounting processes. This approach results in an increase in operational flexibility as more applications are integrated on the platform. The fact that all applications are linked together guarantees minimal duplication of effort, resulting in more consistent financial reports”.

Ecovis Online is designed to be implemented in a modular fashion and to scale up as the business grows and requirements change.

“Typically, one would start with the accounting and the paperless invoicing modules and gradually link up reporting and business analytics modules”, explained Mr Bezzina, adding that “the modular design significantly lowers operational costs. Ecovis Online is the ideal solution for businesses of any size looking for a robust, centralised and secure platform to support all their financial transactions”.

All applications on the Ecovis Online platform are cloud based, thus offering benefits such as 24/7 access from any location with internet connection, one single source of data, improved collaboration between teams, scaling with the business, centralised system upgrades, real-time support, access to certified and industry approved software, and secure access through single sign-on and dual-factor authentication.

Phoenicia picks up British Airways award

British Airways Holidays have awarded Malta’s premier 5-star property The Phoenicia its Customer Excellence Award for being a top reviewed hotel. The Phoenicia, a Campbell Gray Hotel and part of Leading Hotels of the World, has won numerous awards and accolades over the last 70 years and the company is delighted to have brought this prestigious award to the Maltese Islands.

Reviews are only collected from genuine British Airways Holidays customers. Customers are asked to score hotels based on location, service, cleanliness, and sleep quality, as well as giving an overall quality score. Reevoo, an independent and impartial third-party company, collects reviews from British Airways Holidays customers.

The Phoenicia has been Malta’s most exclusive hospitality address since it first opened in 1947. Built in the 1930s and originally conceived as a place for visiting naval officers and their families to rest their heads, It gained a reputation early on as the place for foreign dignitaries to stay and soon became a hub for the Maltese elite and nobility.

Unsurprisingly The Daily Telegraph in the UK gave The Phoenicia a nine out of 10 for ‘style and character’ in their last review, as well as bestowing beguiling comments such as: “The food, courtesy of Daniel Debattista, a Maltese chef who trained with Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles, hits all the right notes, simple yet sensational and wonderfully flavoured.”

Earlier this year, The Phoenicia became Malta’s only member of Fine Hotels & Resorts joining luxury hotels such as Raffles, Singapore, Bulgari Resort Bali, Park Hyatt New York, Velaa Private Island in Noonu Atoll and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, among other prestigious properties. The hotels have one thing in common, to deliver premium experiences that reflect the lifestyles and needs of each individual traveller.

Charles Azzopardi, The Phoenicia’s general manager said: “The Phoenicia has been recognised by British Airways Holidays customers for providing a high-quality customer experience. We have always changed and evolved to keep in step with the needs and expectations of our guests, this has been one of the secrets of our success for seven decades. On behalf of all our team members I am delighted to receive this recognition for all the effort that everyone has put into serving each and every guest. We also thank all our guests from British Airways Holidays for their glowing reviews.”

Bavaria Towers leases 5,400m² office space

Bavaria Towers, which has the Valletta-based real estate development, investment and group of hotels Von der Heyden Group as one of its investors, is one of the most spectacular real estate projects in Munich. The developer Bayern Projekt GmbH has just concluded a new long-term lease for 5,400m² lettable area in the property complex located in the east of the state capital.

The lease with a US-based high-tech giant, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of graphics processors and micro chipsets which has recently firmly positioned itself in the fields of artificial intelligence, gaming and components for autonomous cars, includes an option to lease expansion space. The IT company is headquartered in Silicon Valley and will relocate its Munich office to four floors in the Blue Tower at Bavaria Towers in February, with an option to lease further space. The letting was brokered by Colliers International.

Sven Renz, managing director of the developer Bayern Projekt said: “The development of Bavaria Towers is one of Germany’s most visionary real estate projects under the mission statement ‘tomorrow starts today’. The fact that a high-growth, high-tech company from Silicon Valley has selected the Blue Tower as the location for its Munich office is unequivocal proof of the attractiveness of the complex for the future-orientated IT sector, which lays great store by a pleasant and innovative working environment for its workforce, in view of the shortage of qualified staff.”
