BUSUTTIL. On July 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, CONNIE, of Attard, aged 80, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Maria and Carmena (Carmenu), her brother John, her nephews and nieces May, George, Maria, Charles, Joseph, Paul, Connie, Richard, Andrew and Annette, their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 2pm tomorrow Friday, August 3, for St Mary’s parish church, Attard, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Attard cemetery.

CALLEJA. On August 1, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, aged 89, Rev. Mgr GUIDO, former parish priest of St Julian’s and Stella Maris, Sliema, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss Gemma, widow of his brother Anthony, his nephews and nieces Anna, Guido, Eric and Diane, other relatives and numerous friends, among whom Mgr Lawrence Gatt and the Zammit Lupi family. He will be also dearly missed by his former parishioners at St John the Baptist Church, Magnolia Springs, Alabama, US. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, August 4 to Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated by His Grace the Archbishop at 9.30am followed by internment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. CASOLANI – DAVID, passed away peacefully at home on the July 31st, at the age of 70, he leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Simone née Grech, his beloved children Simon and his wife Denise, Janika and her husband Edward Busuttil, his grandchildren Martina and Mikela, his step-children Matthew, Sarah and her husband Alessandro Venè and their son Zachary, his brother Marcel, his sisters Anna Busuttil, Sue and her husband Paul Psaila, his in-laws Marian and her husband Stephen Miller and James Grech, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday August 3rd, 2018 at 1.30pm where Mass præsente cadaver will be celebrated at 2pm at Stella Maris Church in Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. DEGUARA. On August 1, at Loyola House, Naxxar, FR PAUL DEGUARA, S.J., aged 84, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his brothers Carmel, Lazarus and his wife Maria, his sister-in-law Gracey, widow of his brother Anthony, his sisters, Helen and Sister Maria SSD, Doris, widow of Anthony Xuereb, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadaver will be celebrated tomorrow Friday at 3.30pm at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Naxxar, followed by the internment at the parish cemetery, Naxxar. No flowers by request, but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

MICALLEF. On August 1st, at Mater Dei Hospital, VINCENT of Msida, aged 73 years, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doris, his children Christian and his wife Maureen, Dorianne and her husband Etienne Dalli, his beloved grandchildren Luca, Julia, Isaac and Andrea, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow Saturday August 4 at 7.30am for St. Joseph Parish Church Msida, where mass præsente cadaver will be said at 8am, followed by interment in the family grave at Sta. PACE. On July 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr ALEXANDER of St Teresa (Carmel Pace), of the Discalced Carmelites, Birkirkara, aged 85, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his fellow brethren of the Maltese Province of the Discalced Carmelites, his sister-in-law Frances, numerous nephews and nieces, volunteers and helpers from Għaqda Armar Festa tal-Karmnu, other relatives and friends. A concelebrated funeral Mass, præsente cadavere, will be celebrated today Thursday, August 2 at 9.30am at St Therese Sanctuary, Birkirkara, followed by private interment in the vaults of St Theresa Convent, Cospicua. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The Carmelite Community and his family would like to thank the staff at Ward M5 and ITU, Mater Dei Hospital, for their dedication and care. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

WETTON. On July 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, Peter James, of Southend-on-Sea, UK and residing in Marsascala, aged 70, passed away peacefully.
He leaves to mourn his loss his partner Kay, his brothers Ron and Mick, stepdaughter Hayley and friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 4 in Mqabba Cemetery at 1:30pm, followed by interment in the family grave.

WHITE. On July 31, in London UK, Mgr. LEO J. WHITE, Prefect Apostolic Emeritus of Garissa in Kenja, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Mary and her family, his brother Edgar and his family, several relatives and friends amongst who are nephews and nieces.
