Solar Cinema is today presenting a second short film programme about creative environmental ideas, which aim to urge the audience to stop wasting and start creating.
The programme includes:Coral Colours by Antonio Rod (Spain), which features 25,000 photographs revealing the beauty of the coral.
What If You Fly by Renan Ozturk and Taylor Rees (US) in which muralist Sean Yoro (a.k.a. Hula) travels to the Arctic waters of Baffin Island, Nunavut, to (eco) paint a portrait of a local Inuit woman on the sea ice.
Tulkou by Mohamed Fadera and Sami Guellaï (France), which follows an old fisherman from a remote island who catches a sea spirit in his fishing net and takes it home, hoping they will become friends.
Waste by Sander Alt (the Netherlands), about two tired and starving mice who arrive in a food heaven.
The Awesome Second Life of Billboards by Great Big Story (US), which sees recycling at its best. Luminaris by Juan Pablo Zaramella (Argentina), which follows an ordinary man who has a plan that could change the natural order of things in a world controlled and timed by light.
Solar Cinema brings unseen films to unusual places, all powered by 100 per cent solar energy. It forms part of Valletta 2018 - European Capital of Culture
The screenings will take place today at St Joseph Square, Msida, at 8.30pm. Attendance is free.
