AZZOPARDI. On July 30, PHILIP, of Żebbug and residing in Fleur de Lys, aged 74 years, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lora, his daughters Miriam and her husband Joe Lia and Simone and her husband Joseph Zahra, grandchildren Jonathan, Stephanie, Jessica, JayJay and Abigail, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, their respective spouses, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday August 1, at 7.45am for Our Saviour’s parish church, Lija, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. BUSUTTIL. Yesterday, on July 31st, at Mater Dei Hospital, CONNIE of Attard, aged 80, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of The Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Maria and Carmena (Carmenu), her brother John, her nephews and nieces May, George, Maria, Charles, Joseph, Paul, Connie, Richard, Andrew and Annette, their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday August 3rd at 2pm for St Mary’s parish Church, Attard, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Attard cemetery.

CASOLANI. On July 31, David, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 70. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife Simone née Grech, his beloved children Simon and his wife Denise, Janika and her husband Edward Busuttil, his grandchildren Martina and Mikela, his step-children Matthew and Sarah and her husband Alessandro and their son Zachary, his brother Marcel, his sisters Anna Busuttil, Sue and her husband Paul Psaila, his in-laws Marian and her husband Stephen Miller and James Grech, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

DEGUARA. On August 1st, at Loyola House, Naxxar, FR PAUL DEGUARA, S.J., aged 84, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his brothers Carmel, Lazarus and his wife Maria, his sister-in-law Gracey, widow of his brother Anthony, his sisters, Helen and Sister Maria SSD, Doris, widow of Anthony Xuereb, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadaver will be celebrated on Friday at 3.30pm at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, Naxxar, followed by the internment at the parish cemetery, Naxxar. No flowers by request, but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

FORMOSA. On July 31, at St  Catherine’s Home for the Elderly, Attard, LOUIS, of Valletta, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Fr Provincial Paul Formosa, SDB, his  daughter Dorianne and her husband Dr George Bugeja, his grandchildren Karen,  Luke and Michelle,  his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Catherine’s Home, Attard, today at 1.30pm for St Gregory parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. JACCARINI. On July 31, ANGELA, from Sliema, aged 68, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Vera and her husband Louis, Claire and her husband Thomas, and Theresa, and her brother Joseph and his wife Suzanne, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, August 2, at 7.30am for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass  præsente cadavere will be said at 8am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On July 29, MARIELLA, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved mother Maria née Mantegna, widow of Antonio Micallef, her dearest and devoted sister Claudia, other relatives and friends. The funeral will leave Mater Dei Hospital at 8.45am, tomorrow, Thursday, August 2, for the parish church of St John of the Cross, Ta’ Xbiex, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PACE. On July 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, Fr ALEXANDER OF ST TERESA (Carmel Pace), of the Discalced Carmelites, Birkirkara, aged 85, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his fellow brethren of the Maltese Province of the Discalced Carmelites, his sister-in-law Frances, numerous nephews and nieces, volunteers and helpers from Għaqda Armar Festa tal-Karmnu, other relatives and friends. The public may pay their last respects and sign a Book of Condolences today, Wednesday, August 1, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall (next to St Therese Sanctuary, Birkirkara) from 10am. All are invited to a short prayer vigil in the presence of his remains today at 7pm in the church hall. A concelebrated funeral Mass, præsente cadavere, will be celebrated tomorrow, Thursday, August 2, at 9.30am at St Therese Sanctuary, Birkirkara, followed by private interment in the vaults of St Theresa Convent, Cospicua. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Mary Rose nee Cassar Naudi, his children Adrian and his wife Margaret, Marie Louise and her husband Aldo Muscat and Astrid and her husband Karl Cachia, Christopher Sandstrom and his wife Cecilia, his precious grandchildren Sarah, Andre, Nikki, Mark, Edward, Francesca, Adriana, Philip, Matilda and Isabelle and their respective husbands and wives, his great-grandchildren, his sister Elvira and her husband Henry Fenech, relatives and friends. GALEA CURMI – JOSETTE. Fond and grateful memories of a loving mother and sister, tomorrow the 18th anniversary of her passing away to a better life. In 2007, her husband Paul joined her in everlasting life. We miss you both greatly, but the love and faith you shared live on in the hearts of all whom you touched by your life. Their children and families, her sister and brothers and their families. There will be a Mass celebrating their life tomorrow, August 2, at 7.30pm at the chapel of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Balzan.

GALEA. Loving memories of our dear sister MARY ROSE who passed away four years ago. Her siblings Carmen, Alfred, Frankie, Tony, Anna, nephews, nieces and close relatives.
