The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes, in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation and the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA), is tomorrow organising a seminar entitled ‘Playful Learning in STEM – Promoting Game-based Learning in STEM Education’.

The aim of the seminar is to provide STEM educators with a theoretical and practical underpinning for the use of games in STEM education. The keynote speaker will be Lauri Järvilehto, a former educational consultant at Rovio Entertainment (the company related to the popular video game Angry Birds) and co-founder/chairman of Lightneer, a mobile-gaming start-up focusing on games for learning.

The seminar will be held tomorrow between 8.30am and 12.15pm at the MITA Data Centre, Old Railway Road, Santa Venera. For more information, contact Stephen Bezzina on stephen.bezzina@ilearn.edu.mt.
