I am enclosing a recent photo of the Olive Grove in San Ġwann. As can be seen it is in a grave state of abandonment.

The young trees have not been watered for a very long time and some of them are in need of urgent attention otherwise they will wither and die. Weeds are everywhere and the risk of fire is real, given the long summer drought before us. Some of the walls have crumbled and the benches have not seen a layer of paint since inauguration some six years ago.

I ask the authorities concerned (mainly the local council) to give this lovely garden their urgent attention as otherwise there is a great risk of its destruction either through natural forces or through some careless human act.
