SPITERI. On June 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARYANNE, of Valletta, passed away peacefully at the age of 71, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Isabelle and her husband George, Nathalie, Vivienne, her brothers Dennis and his wife Jane, Paul and his wife Sabine, her nephews and nieces and their spouses, her uncle, her cousins and many family friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, at 8am, for St Dominic parish church, Valletta, where funeral Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. VELLA. On June 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, nèe Zahra, from St Paul’s Bay residing in Burmarrad, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be greatly missed by her children Tania, Sonia and her husband Victor Ellul, her granddaughters Yelena, Nikita and her fiancé Jean Paul Gauci, her brothers and sisters of Australia and their spouses, numerous nephews and nieces in Malta, Australia, Canada and England, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, at 3.45pm, for Qalb bla Tebgha ta’ Marija parish church, Burmarrad, where funeral Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4.30pm followed by interment at Hniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On June 24, JOANNA, nèe Marich, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Alex, her son David and his wife Renee, her daughter Ruth and her husband Robert Galea, her grandchildren Elijah, Jacob, Charlotte, Ava and Matthew; her sisters Barbara and her husband James Dunbar Cousin, Clarissa and her husband Peter Galea; her brother-in-law Joe and his wife Josianne Zammit, her sister-in-law Christine widow of Joseph Galea, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, at 2pm at the parish church in San Gwann followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZERAFA. On June 24 at Mater Dei Hospital, Joseph, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the Rites of Holy Church. He is mourned and will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Mary, his only daughter Claire and her husband Larry Shoemake, and his beloved twin granddaughters Thea and Bianca. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, June 27 for St Paul’s Collegiate Church, Rabat, where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Margherita, Rabat. Special thanks go to the staff at Villa Messina and to the doctors and staff at MAU 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, for their exceptional loving care. Lord grant him eternal rest.
