Gozo Live, a non-governmental and voluntary educational organisation run by Barbara Day, celebrated Gozo’s young writers for the third consecutive year. A total of 208 entries from 14 schools were submitted for the Young Writers of Gozo competition.
The award presentation, organised by Gozo Live together with Gozo Gollege, was held at the Gozo College Middle School in Victoria during which the students were commended for the extremely high standard of entries. During the event the students also showcased their talent by performing plays written by themselves and reciting their own poetry.
The event was attended by Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana, Learning and Assessment Programmes director Gaetano Bugeja, assistant director Sandra Ebejer, heads of schools, department heads and a large number of students and family members.
The deadline of the next writing competition, sponsored by EcoGozo, is April 2019. For more information, contact gozolive2018@gmail.com.
