Rodolfo Soares is confident in the chances of Brazil in clinching their sixth FIFA World Cup, despite starting their journey in Russia with a stalemate against Switzerland.

In my opinion, it was difficult for the team to start the World Cup on a good note as they were very anxious, but also the first game is always the most difficult," Soares said to timesofmalta.com.

There was a lot of criticism towards Neymar for not having lifted Brazil against the European side, despite he was targeted by Switzerland throughout the entire game, to the point that he became the second most fouled player at a World Cup with 10 fouls.

"The best player in the Brazilian team that is Neymar, was not in his best physical condition, he held the ball a lot and prevented the fast transition. Moreover I believe that Brazil lost one of their best assets that is being fast with quick combinations between players," the Gżira United defender added.

"In the second half, we lost a lot of tactical organization and we allowed the offensive actions of Switzerland to score. The result could have been better, and now the team is under pressure. They need to beat Costa Rica in the next game to continue their dream towards the sixth star."
