I write with respect to the article appearing on Times of Malta (June 20) entitled “OPM candidate for MGA ‘has conflict of interest’”. Reference is made to Main Street Complex and to one of its board members, Marlene Seychell.

The article erroneously suggests that Main Street Complex plc “runs a bingo hall”, and that Ms Seychell is “already on the board of a bingo hall operator”. On behalf of the board of directors of Main Street Complex, I write to draw your attention to the fact that both aforesaid statements are factually incorrect.

The company operating the bingo hall in question is one of 19 tenants within Main Street Complex, the shopping mall owned by Main Street Complex plc, and the relationship between Main Street Complex plc. and such operator is of landlord and tenant respectively. Main Street Complex plc does not run (or own or operate, for that matter) a bingo hall.

Ms Seychell is a non-executive director of Main Street Complex plc, and not of the company operating the said bingo hall.
