An 86-page photo book about Mtarfa commissioned by the local council reveals the town’s history, culture and tourism draws to visitors.

The book, titled L-Imtarfa – Belt il-Ġmiel, contains 146 photos taken by local photographer Reuben Seychell and is edited by tourist guide and lecturer Vincent Zammit.

Mayor Daniel Attard said that the book was another way in which the council’s vision of putting Mtarfa on Malta’s tourist map, and went hand-in-hand with works to restore the locality’s clock tower, the construction of an interpretation centre and regeneration of the town square.

Local government parliamentary secretary Silvio Parnis praised the council initiative, saying that despite its small size the council had managed to write a piece of local history through the publication of the book.
