Ħaġar Qim Temples, a Unesco World Heritage Site, was awarded the highest honour TripAdvisor can bestow: The Travellers’ Choice award.

The site was also included in the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame after it received the Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years.

Trip advisor says of the award that it is "our highest recognition and is presented annually to the top 1 per cent of businesses across select categories".

Ħaġar Qim is a megalithic temple in southern Malta, dating from 3600BC. It was awarded the status of World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1992.

Ħaġar Qim was amongst nine Heritage Malta sites and museums which received the Certificate of Excellence.

Fort St Angelo, Fort St Elmo-National War Museum, Ġgantija Temples, Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, Mnajdra Temples, National Museum of Archaeology, St Paul’s Catacombs and Tarxien Temples have all received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, which is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.

Heritage Malta has received certificates for its sites for the last six consecutive years.
