I was unfortunate enough to be caught up in the traffic jam following the collision in Triq il-Marfa, Għadira early Saturday evening. Everyone waited patiently for the chaos to clear except this lady who marched to the front and suddenly began directing traffic onto the other carriageway to get things moving.

Two things occur to me. First, who is this unsung heroine who single-handedly got things moving? And, secondly, why was the policeman seemingly sitting in his car on his phone, not helping?

Whoever she is, I salute her and thank her on behalf of all the motorists who were spared a much-longer wait.
