Amadou Samb is hoping that Senegal can spring a surprise in this year's World Cup as the African representatives open their commitments today, against Poland.

"This team has a lot of youth talents who are still trying to find chemistry but I think they can give a run for their money to any opponent," the Gżira United forward said.

Senegal will be hoping that to emulate the 2002 team which dumped out defending champions France in the group stages and advanced till the quarter-finals.

"There are a lot of differences between that team and this team, but they can learn a lot from that group in order to leave their own impression in this tournament," he said.
