Malta hosts eTwinning European seminar

Celebrating cultural diversity through digital literacy in eTwinning was the theme of a three-day eTwinning European Seminar held recently in Malta.

The seminar was attended by 55 teachers, of which 28 came from Poland, Portugal, Georgia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey.

Its aim was to celebrate the cultural diversities of the seven countries represented and to demonstrate how digital literacy was a fundamental competence in education to nurture global citizens and could be integrated and cultivated through eTwinning.

Among the topics of the presentations delivered during the seminar was the EPALE platform, useful tips on blog writing, examples of good practice and tips for eco-schools and eTwinning projects, and how to use Twinspace.

Partner finding and networking  activities were also held, new partnerships were formed and ideas exchanged for upcoming projects. Towards the end of the seminar, participants finalised and registered new projects on the eTwinning platform for the coming scholastic year and presented their project ideas to fellow participants.

The foreign participants were also hosted to a cultural tour of Valletta and a visit to Mdina.

The seminar was organised by the Maltese eTwinning National Support Service coordinated by Rose-anne Camilleri.
