Two full days of activities for the public have been prepared as part of the festival, which will take place at Exhibition Hall, Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria on June 22 and 23 from 10am till 1pm and 4pm till 7pm on both days.

The festival will include Open Mic sessions, readings of local works of literature, literacy and literary activities, and a guided tour through Rabat visiting the houses of Gozitan poets.

The various activities are being run in collaboration with publishers Horizons, Faraxa and Pjattaforma, local NGO Inizjamed, and a number of Maltese and Gozitan writers and artists.

The participating publishers in this event are Midsea Books, Faraxa, Merlin, Pjattaforma, Heritage Malta, Horizons, Uptrend, SKS, and Agius and Agius. Local publications will be put on display and available for purchase by the public.

Friday 22 June

9:45 am: Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana and the executive director of the National Book Council, Mark Camilleri, open the Festival

10:00 am: Open Mic with students and reading by LeanneEllul

4:30 pm: Michael Zammit reads excerpts from Il-Metamorfosi ta’ Ovidju (with Pjattaforma) 

5:30 pm: From visual art to writing with Maxine Attard

Saturday 23 June

10:00 am: Story-telling as a learning tool (with Faraxa)

11:00 am: Guided tour of Rabat through the houses of Gozitan poets of the past

12:00 noon: Poetry from Gozo (with readings by Charles Bezzina and Joe Camilleri 

4:00pm: Screening of the film Dar Ir-Rummien, based on a short story by the same name from the collection of short stories Dak li l-lejl iħallik tgħid by Pierre J. Mejlak

5:00pm: Open Mic Session (in collaboration with Inizjamed)
