Joao Moreira has tipped Portugal as one of the favourites to clinch the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, given their recent success in the European Championships a couple of years ago.

"We claimed Euro 2016 two summers ago and therefore, I see Portugal as one of the favourites to clinch the ultimate prize in Russia," the former Hibernians striker said to timesofmalta.com. 

Fernando Santos has the privilege of banking on a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo and he hopes that the Real Madrid forward can excel in Russia in order to lead his team all the way to the final.

"With Cristiano Ronaldo in the team, all players are more responsible as they need to raise the bar to collaborate with our captain," he said.
