A few weeks ago, a young English tourist was fined €4,000 for urinating in public. The other day, my wife and I were walking back to our car parked near the Gozo sports centre, in Victoria. There were a number of coaches waiting for students and a driver was urinating against a tree.

This was 12 noon. It seems there is one rule for one of our own and one for ‘foreigners’.

Capital of culture, indeed.
