Jazz for the Brain – a show that fuses live jazz performances with ground-breaking research on neuroscience – will be held at Esplora Interactive Science Centre, Kalkara, on Sunday.

Organised in collaboration with Live Music Surround Project, the event will feature jazz musicians Carlo Muscat on saxaphone, Diccon Cooper on double bass, Effie Azzopardi on trumpet, Joseph Camilleri on drums and Karl Galea on guitar, playing musical interpretations of the workings of brain cells.

Their performance is inspired by neuroscience research carried out at the University of Malta by Mario Valentino and his team, aimed at supporting the treatment of stroke victims.

Participants will also watch a 45-minute show at the Esplora Planetarium called Cell Cell Cell and hear stories about the human brain and the beauty of the brain cells.

Jazz for the Brain will be held at Esplora Interactive Science Centre, Kalkara, on Sunday from 7 to 10pm. For tickets and more information call  2360 2300, send an e-mail to programmes@esplora.org.mt or visit http://esplora.org.mt . Tickets will also be available at the door.
