Birkirkara continued their transfer activity when they prolonged the contracts of midfielders Mislav Andelkovic and Terence Agius.

Andelkovic, seen by many as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, returned to Birkirkara FC last January and has now agreed to extend his stay at the Valley club for another season after signing a new one-year contract.

Andelkovic played a key role in helping the Stripes reach their ambition of securing a place in European competitions. He made twenty-seven appearances in season 2017-2018, scored one goal and was voted once the BOV Player of the Match.

Birkirkara's Technical Director Michael Valenzia is delighted that a player like Andelkovic has renewed his contract with the club. “We are delighted that Mislav has decided to renew his contract with us,” he told the club website.

“In my opinion, Mislav is one of the best foreign players on the island and with his experience and quality, we hope that he will help us achieve our targets this season.”

On his part, Agius, who arrived to the club in January, has now made his transfer permanent after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Valenzia said that Agius is the perfect player to join Birkirkara FC.

“Following Terence's successful loan-spell, we felt that he was the ideal player to join our squad. Terence has a fantastic attitude and will compliment the rest of our playing squad. We would like to welcome Terence to our club and wish him all the best for the upcoming seasons,” he said.
