Soprano Ruth Casingena will today sing about love as portrayed in operatic arias in a lunchtime concert at St Augustine Monastery, Valletta.

She will sing excerpts from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Puccini’s La Bohème and Lehar’s song Meine Lippen Sie Kussen So Heiss. Ramona Zammit Formosa, who will accompany the soprano on the piano, will also perform Cimarosa’s Sonata in G, Chopin’s Mazurka in Bb and Fantasy on a Hungarian Folk Song. After the concert visitors will have the opportunity to see the chambers of the monastery for free.

The concert starts at noon. Tickets can be obtained from the venue itself half an hour before the concert. Proceeds will go to the Augustinian Monastery restoration project. For more details phone 7968 0952 or e-mail: baroccomalta@gmail.com.
