Bollards placed along the pavement in Triq San Trofimu in Sliema were put up without permission, Transport Minister Ian Borg confirmed.

Replying to a parliamentary question by MP Byron Camilleri, Dr Borg said that once this had been established, Transport Malta was starting the process for the illegalities to be removed.

Mr Camilleri said that the problem was that they obstructed the pavement to the extent that wheelchairs could not get past.
