Valletta-born Alfred Camilleri pays tribute to the capital city with a personal art exhibition titled Civitas.
Camilleri touches on a number of aspects, which identify the authenticity of the city through a wide range of genres, techniques and subject matter with a touch of personal experience. Through such works, Camilleri makes a statement that Valletta deserves its rightful respect for its significance and distinction both on a national as well as on a European and international level.
In the process, the artist reveals his love of painting, sculpture, history, architecture and draughtsmanship while retaining his obsession with surreal or threatening space, with solid forms and volumes.
The exhibition runs until June 16 at the Malta Postal Museum and Arts Hub, 135, Archbishop Street, Valletta. The museum is open daily from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. For more information, call the MPM on 2596 1750 or send an e-mail to info@maltapostalmuseum.com.
