An FBI agent who dropped his gun while dancing in a club and then accidentally shot a patron when he snatched it off the ground is under investigation in Denver.
Video uploaded to social media shows the man, who was reportedly off-duty,
dancing as bystanders look on. At one point, he does a backflip and his revolver slips out onto the ground.
The man quickly grabbed the gun, but accidentally let off a round as he did so, hitting a patron in the leg.
A woman who recorded the video said that she smelled gunpowder and saw a person bleeding.
“Everyone was kind of shocked after it happened,” she said. “He kind of put his gun back away and then he walked away.”
The injured man is expected to make a good recovery. The off-duty agent was taken in for questioning by Denver police and later released to an FBI supervisor.
