Laura Vicuna School in Għasri organised a water festival, having as its theme ‘Reuse and save energy as to save water’. A video of all the work done throughout the scholastic year related to the water explorer programme was shown, while various decorative items and toys made from reusable material, including  a bench made from wooden pallets, were put on display in the school’s playground. Instead of using expensive items to decorate the playground for the occasion the students used umbrellas.

Year 3 students put up posters and gave some useful tips on how we can save water, while Year 6 students performed a rap song about saving water.

At the end of the activity guests were given a hamper consisting of several decorative items which were made by students from reusable material.

They were also given a set of drinking glass cups to be used instead of plastic ones.

The activity was attended by Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Clint Camilleri and Għasri local council and HSBC water programme representatives.
