The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Malta kicked off on May 26 at Fort St Elmo in Valletta. Hosting a 24-metre catwalk, with different areas dedicated to presentations and pop-up stores selling merchandise by local designers, the event came to a close yesterday with the Malta Fashion Awards.

The first day showcased clothes from local stores, managed by the Dizz Group, including Elisabetta Franchi, Pinko and Trussardi Jeans.

The second day saw the arrival of a show by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, a renowned designer from Spain, as well as a creative installation by Yana’s Jewellery, inspired by flamenco dancers, and a presentation featuring swimwear by local designer brand Isle Aqua.

There were also two catwalk shows by Edith and Parascandalo.

The event is supported by Valletta 2018, the Arts Council Malta and Heritage Malta, as well as by the corporate sponsors, namely Mercedes-Benz, Chamilia, Aldo, Tresemme, Eva Garden and Coca-Cola.
