A newly formed group of Buddhist practitioners hailing from different countries, traditions and schools have come together to establish themselves in Malta.

Members of Bodhicitta Malta have varying levels of experience and intend to meet to pray, read, meditate and practice yoga.

Fifteen members gathered on Tuesday May 29 to celebrate Vesak, a day which commemorates the birth, enlightenment and passing into Parinirvana of the Buddha, more than 2500 years ago. Held on the full moon day in May, the day is marked in Buddhist countries around the world with various festivities.

Bodhicitta Malta was formed after a group of interested people who had gathered to hear Chamtrul Rinpoche give a talk at the Valletta Campus theatre last march expressed a desire to have an organised group of Buddhist practitioners to support individuals.

The group is currently in process of registration as a VO and can be contacted at bodhicittamalta@gmail.com.
