More than 300 new accountants and auditors have joined the ranks of their professions, following a warrant and certificate award ceremony in Valletta.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna handed out 316 Certified Public Accountant and Practising Certificates in Auditing at a ceremony held at Hastings Gardens.

In total, 216 accountants received a CPA warrant, 22 auditors received the CPA and 78 received both the CPA and PCA.

Prof. Scicluna congratulated the recipients and told them that they now had great responsibilities, with the public trusting them to carry out their work with professionalism, integrity and good faith.

The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Scicluna, Accountancy Board chairman Peter Baldacchino and board secretary Martin Spiteri.
