I read the sad news of the passing away of Tony Apap, a long-time friend of mine. He merits an appreciation for his dedication and excellent service he carried out during his long time as manager of the Radiology Department at St. Luke’s Hospital and his voluntary work after his retirement.

Tony had a long service record at the X-Ray Department and his capabilities to manage a non-stop workload 24 hours a day together with his dedicated colleagues was not an easy task. Besides, he played a crucial role when new modern X-Ray equipment was installed at the hospital, replacing an old and outdated machine.

After his retirement he dedicated all his energy at the President’s office in Valletta working on a voluntary basis where he took charge of claims for assistance from the public.

May he rest in peace in the company of the Lord who promised one and all “that what you have done with these little ones you did it to me”, (Matthew 25:40).
