EMIN Bus tours Gozo

The EMIN Bus (European Minimum Income Journey) was in Gozo as part of a European tour campaign targeting 32 countries to promote an adequate decent living. The bus arrived in Malta from Italy under the leadership of Anne van Lancker.

The EMIN Bus concept is part of the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) lobby group based in Brussels with affiliations from all the European countries. Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana and shadow minister Chris Said visited the bus and signed a petition associated with this project.

The EAPN group lobbies for anti-poverty campaigns and strategies, including the pro-vision of an adequate mini-mum income for everybody. The Anti-Poverty Forum Malta (APF) is a platform of Maltese organisations which is part of EAPN. The Oasi Foundation is an active member and founder of APF Malta.

The bus toured various places, including Dwejra, Victoria and Ramla Bay. The volunteers manning the bus also spent some time at the Oasi Foundation Centre in Victoria.

The visit to Malta was coordinated by Andre Bonello from Caritas Malta and Noel Xerri from Oasi.
