St Aloysius’ College last weekend held is annual three-day ‘SAC fest’ in the school grounds in Birkirkara. Set up and run by staff and students, the festival programme included football and other sport tournaments, martial arts displays, fairground games, open air concerts featuring live music and dance, a Playstation zone, bric-a-brac stalls, workshops for parents on youths’ addictions and ‘reconnecting’, a prayer tent, chill-out zones and a car wash. Food and drinks were served throughout. One of this year’s innovations was a 52-hour running marathon called the Gatorade Charity Running Challenge organised on the initiative of Fr Patrick Magro SJ, a keen marathon runner himself. Photo shows Fr Magro launching the marathon accompanied by college students.
