The Tumas Fenech Foundation for Education in Journalism presented a set of books to the outgoing chairman of the Institute of Maltese Journalists, Karl Wright, during the Malta Journalism Awards earlier this month.

Ambassador Anthony DeBono, the foundation’s deputy chairman, paid tribute to Mr Wright’s contribution to the institute and the foundation, of which he was a trustee: “I feel I would be lacking greatly if, in this context, I do not show appreciation for the work they carried out, in the name of the chairman and my colleagues, members of the board, that incorporates two members of the Institute of Maltese Journalists, including the former chairman, Mr Wright, whose work was continued by Norma Saliba as acting chair, and Roderick Agius, president of the Academy for the Development of a Democratic Environment (AŻAD).

“The same appreciation should be shown to all those who in one way or another contributed to the continued work of the foundation throughout the year, especially to the family of the late lamented Tumas Fenech, who have always blessed, through their deeds, the foundation’s initiatives.

“I wish to show our gratitude in a suitable manner to Mr Wright for his contribution as a member of the board after his term came to an end in the past year and wish him greater success in his career.”
