With reference to the article entitled ‘“University unfairly denied me my PhD”’ (May 24), the University of Malta would like to clarify the following.

Gaetano Vella, throughout the sitting held before the Petitions Committee, besides being very selective in citing sections from certain reports, deliberately misled the Petitions Committee by failing to disclose that there subsist judicial proceedings he instituted against the University of Malta and which are still pending (1030/2016 JRM).

Moreover, in any case and for all intents and purpose, the University of Malta hereby categorically rejects and rebuts his unfounded allegations, most of which are frivolous and/or vexatious.
