MERCIECA. On May 23, at St Vincent de Paul residence, THERESE, née Micallef, widower of Emanuel, of Marsa, aged 87, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Paul, Charles and his wife Mary, grandchildren Selina and her husband Terrence, Jeremy and Britney and great-grandchildren Jacob, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow, Friday, May 25 at 7.45am for Holy Trinity church, Marsa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar Tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Very special thanks to the staff of St Francis 1 ward for their constant care, support and dedication.
VELLA. On May 20, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, Mater Dei Hospital, FR ARTHUR G. VELLA, S.J., aged 87, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his brother Biagio and his wife Giulia, his sister-in-law Helen, widow of Joseph, his nephews and nieces, among them Fr Bertrand OFM Cap., other nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today, Thursday, May 24 at 3.30pm at Assumption of Our Lady parish church, Mosta, followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.
