AQUILINA. On May 22, at Mater Dei, TEREZA of St Paul’s Bay, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Carmel, her children Architect Godwin Aquilina and his wife Anna, Lina and her husband John, Dorothy and husband David, Valerie widow of Michael, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends amongst whom Rev. Mons. Joseph Bajada. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, May 24 at 1.15pm for Marija Addolorata parish church, St Paul’s Bay, where funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CASSAR. On May 19, JOSEPH, aged 70, passed away at home after an illness bravely bourne. He leaves to mourn his terrible loss his wife Tania, his daughters Mateja and Reuben Farrugia, Valentina and Michael Camilleri, his beloved grandchildren Max, Alex, Gina and Stella. Through his illness he was comforted by the memory of his parents Joseph and Maria Stella, his sister Antoinette and his beloved grandson Ben. He also leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters Maryanne, Lolly and Gladys, Carmen Desira, Michael and Rosalyn, and Vicky and George Muscat, his mother-in-law Minka Ferrante, his in-laws Marinka Ferrante, Anna Ferrante, and Nadine and Gianni Merola, his many loving nephews and nieces and their families, and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Tuesday, May 22, at 1pm for St Joseph parish church, Msida, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 1.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. FALZON. On May 21, at St James Hospital, JOHN, first president of the Malta Institute of Accountants, aged 96, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Mary, his children Ivan and his wife Johanna, Godwin and his wife Rita, Marie and her husband Michael, Carmen, Alfred and his wife Simone, Anton and his wife Christine, his sisters Josephine, Judith and her husband Charles, his beloved grandchildren, Ian and his wife Bettina, Clive and his wife Dominique, Keith and his wife Nicole, Chris and his wife Daniela, Liz and her husband Gege, Claire and her husband Karl, Stephanie and her husband Steve, Jonathan and his wife Anne Marie, Stephen and his wife Natasha, Pamela and her husband Allen, Fleur and her husband Aidan, Adam and his wife Andrea, Lara, Sharon, Michelle, Matthew, Karl and his wife Svetlana, his great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. HAYES. On May 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, THOMAS EDWARD, of Qawra, aged 95, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Kathleen and Eileen, his brother Peter and his wife Joan, Dolores, Mary and Charles, his nephews and nieces, the Gauci family and his many friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, May 23, at 8.45am for the St Francis of Assisi parish church, Qawra, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.15am, followed by interment in the family grave at Mqabba cemetery. MIZZI. On May 21, NORAH, aged 97, passed away peacefully at Villa Messina, Rabat, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her sister Yvonne (Sister Margaret Mary SJA), her niece Anna-Maria and her husband Lawrence Bonello, her nephew and nieces of the United States, Arthur and his wife Jai Lin, Martha and her husband Richard Bertolino, Kathy Todd, Mary-Ellen Mizzi Kinser, Janet Mizzi Balser and her husband David Balser, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina tomorrow, Wednesday, May, 23, at 1.30pm, for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. VELLA. On May 20, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, Mater Dei Hospital, Fr ARTHUR G. VELLA, S.J., aged 87, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his brother Biagio and his wife Giulia, his sister-in-law Helen, widow of Joseph, his nephews and nieces, among them Fr Bertrand OFM Cap., other nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Thursday, May 24, at 3.30pm at the Assumption of Our Lady parish church, Mosta, followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to the Jesuit Infirmary for aged and sick Jesuit Fathers and Brothers will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.
