A pick-up truck fell into a Qormi valley on Sunday night, leaving one of the passengers seriously injured.

The incident happened in Għar Ħanżir at 11.30pm.

Police said the car was being driven by a 23-year-old man from Mosta, and that there were four passengers: a 22-year-old man from Mosta, a 22-year-old man from Munxar, and two 21-year-old girls from Iklin and San Ġwann.

They were rescued by a team from the Civil Protection Department. The girl from San Ġwann was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The others escaped unhurt.

Police are investigating.
