Another 107 people – 89 of them male - found work between March and April this year, driving the unemployment numbers down even further.

In April, the number of persons registering for work stood at 1,847 decreasing
by 28.3 per cent when compared to the corresponding month in 2017, the National Statistics Office reported on Monday.

Data provided by Jobsplus for April 2018 indicate a decline of 107 persons registering, when compared to March 2018.

Registered unemployed dropped among all age groups but the largest group – 67 – had been registering for less than 21 weeks.

The registered unemployment rate in December 2017 stood at 1.1 per cent of the labour supply, (excluding part-time employment) and varied from 1.3 per cent among men to 0.8 per cent among women.
