Addressing the Nationalist Party General Council, PN deputy leader Robert Arrigo confirmed his loyal support to Adrian Delia after he got to know him over the past months.
Attending this meeting on Sunday was an opportunity to confirm Arrigo’s conviction. The valid contributions from all the speakers reflected the inspirational aspect of the new PN team led by Dr Delia whose closeness to people is already bearing fruit.
When one is empathetic, one is genuinely concerned about the needs of others, particularly the vulnerable, and this awareness presents politicians with determination to create solutions. This is what Dr Delia is aiming at even from the Opposition benches.
Dr Delia values the dignity of every human being envisaging – as referred to by Michael Briguglio – a society with a soul, a smaller government and a larger society.
Politics is primarily about improving the quality of life for people and eliminating obstacles like corruption that people are paying a high price for.
Giving due credit to Simon Busuttil for his fight against corruption, Dr Delia vowed to intensify this battle.
With a leadership based on Christian values – which are universal – the sky is the limit to what can be achieved. That is why in his concluding speech he convinced many who were still somewhat sceptical about his leadership, including personalities like Bernard Grech.
Dr Delia’s vision of a truly inclusive and caring society is a guarantee for a successful alternative government that makes us all proud be to be Maltese.
