Obituaries
CASSAR. On May 19, Joseph, aged 70, passed away at home after an illness bravely bourne. He leaves to mourn his terrible loss his wife Tania, his daughters Mateja and Reuben Farrugia, and Valentina and Michael Camilleri, his beloved grandchildren Max, Alex, Gina and Stella. Through his illness he was comforted by the memory of his parents Joseph and Maria Stella, his sister Antoinette and his beloved grandson Ben. He also leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters Maryanne, Lolly and Gladys, Carmen Desira, Michael and Rosalyn, and Vicky and George Muscat, his mother-in-law Minka Ferrante, his in-laws Marinka Ferrante, Anna Ferrante, and Nadine and Gianni Merola, his many loving nephews and nieces and their families, and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, May 22 at 1pm for St Joseph parish church, Msida, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 1.30pm, followed by internment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Thanks to the dedicated staff at Mater Dei Hospital and Hospice Malta. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SCERRI. On May 15th at Kings College Hospital UK, Herbert passed away peacefully at the age of 61 comforted by the Rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his mother Mary widow of the late Joseph Muscat, his son Keith and Abigail, his daughter Angela, his devoted partner Anna and her children Philip, Nicky and Michaela Pace. His brothers and sisters Victor, Doreen, Lucienne and Johann and dearest Aunty Jessie, Uncle Emanuel and Uncle Caesar Scerri, nephews and nieces other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday 22nd May praesente cadavere at Sacro Cuor Parish Church, Sliema at 2.00pm, followed by interment at the Addorolata Cemetery. Donations to Puttinu Cares would be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

O Holy St Jude, apostle and martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke you, special patron in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depths of my heart and humbly beg you, whom God has given such great power, to come to my assistance. Help me now in my present and urgent need and grant my earnest petition. In return I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked. O, holy St Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble and anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore of you to obtain for me (request). The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the saint of miracles. O gentle and loving St Anthony, whose heart was ever so full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms, and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
