I refer to the front-page article ‘Labour’s richest MP put on OPM payroll’ (May 16).

For reasons unknown, the Times of Malta was, yet again, neither accurate nor factual when referring to the response by the Principal Permanent Secretary to queries about Manuel Mallia’s contract. The Principal Permanent Secretary referred this newspaper to the answer the Prime Minister gave in Parliament just last Monday to a parliamentary question (PQ 5265). A quick search regarding this reply on the Parliament of Malta website shows Dr Mallia’s financial package.

One should highlight the fact that a mere day after the parliamentary question was tabled by a member of the Opposition (April 12), this newspaper submitted a Freedom of Information request mirroring the question.
