Two men were charged on Friday with murdering a Libyan national at a Ħamrun apartment.

Ramzi Abdulhafid Ib Abukem, 36, and Hamza Kamel Bakoush, 25, also Libyan nationals, were charged with murdering the man as well as holding another two against their will and of threatening to kill them.

The victim was found unconscious in Triq il-Kappillan Mifsud last Monday after he was badly beaten up.

They were also charged with being in possession of weapons as well as causing damage to the property of a third party.

The pair refused to answer any questions so the Court entered a not-guilty plea.

Both men were also charged with relapsing.

No request for bail was made by defence lawyers Arthur Azzopardi and Kathleen Grima.

Inspector Kurt Zahra prosecuted while Magistrate Joe Mifsud presided over the case.
