The Association for Abandoned Animals does a marvellous job caring for homeless dogs and cats. Despite their very limited resources, the staff members bend over backwards to provide food and shelter for animals cruelly thrown out by their owners.
Unfortunately, they have lost their present premises but have managed to obtain a new place in Birżebbuġa. Their new location is an old abandoned radio station. It will cost them tens of thousands of euros to convert this rundown site into a suitable sanctuary. They cannot possibly do this alone and they need all the help they can get.
I appeal to all readers, to the Community Chest Fund and to the government to help them with generous donations so they can continue their amazing work. After all, a truly civilised society is one that also cares for its helpless animals.
