Two people are expected to be arraigned in court on Friday charged with the murder of a man who was beaten up at his apartment in Ħamrun on Monday.

The man, a Libyan national, died on Thursday at 7.30pm, the police said.

The police said they were informed of the incident on Monday at 8.45am and on arriving at his apartment in Triq il-Kappillan Mifsud, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

He had been beaten up by a hard object and wounded by a knife. He had suffered from injuries to his head and had wounds all over his body.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and a magisterial inquiry was ordered.

The police subsequently arrested the two men to be charged with the murder on Friday.
