An inquiry report about the sudden death of Victoria Aluko, 7, has been concluded and presented to the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

The ministry said it would be considering administrative recommendations made, but the report by retired judge Philip Sciberras cannot be published yet, pending the conclusions of a magisterial inquiry.

The ministry said it had decided on its course of action after consultation with the Attorney General.

The Nigerian girl died in January after she was rushed to hospital from a residence in Żabbar where her family-of-five lived.

She died from a rare disease according to her death certificate.

Professionals familiar with the case questioned why children were not taken in care when the parents had shown symptoms of mental health issues or when they went missing from school for months.
