Obituaries

DEBONO. On May 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, HELEN, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved, devoted husband Freddie, her son Raymond, her daughter Charmaine and her husband Walter Portelli and her much loved grandchildren Luke, Joseph, Lucia, Elena and Giorgia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday 16, at 2.30pm for St Catherine’s Parish Church, Zurrieq, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at St Nicholas Cemetery in Qrendi. Lord, grant her eternal rest. Special thanks to doctors, nurses, carers and staff who have taken care of Helen with such dedication.  Donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

CUSCHIERI. On May 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, ODETTE, nèe Zammit, widow of Carmelo, of Gżira, aged 90. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Ronald and his wife Maryann, Jacqueline and her husband Adrian, Claude and his wife Carmen, nephews Christian, Gustav, Jacques, Henri, Isaac, Adam and Nicholas and Alberta children of her daughter Marilyn and their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, May 18 at 8am for Gżira parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

RAIMONDO. On May 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, Dr VINCENT, aged 72, passed away peacefully after a long illness faced with courage. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Marjory, his son Bruce and his wife Vanessa, his daughter Susan, his beloved grandson Nathan, his brother and sister, his brothers-in-law, their respective spouses, all relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, May 18 at 2.30pm for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery Chapel, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank all the staff at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre and Mater Dei Hospital especially Urology Ward 1, for their outstanding care which was greatly appreciated.

THAKE. On May 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES of Senglea, residing in Fleur-de-Lys, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving daughter Maryanne, who took care of him so devotedly, his sons Martin, Peter and Mavonia, Stephen and Deborah, John and Josanne, and David and Agnieska, his grandchildren Robert, Paula, Michael, Matthew, Christine, Steffi, Rachel, Max, Alex, Harry, Sophie and Nicole, his sisters-in-law Gladys, Lilian and Marionne, Heidi, widow of Wilfred, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, May 16, at 1.20pm for the Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, limits of Naxxar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm. No flowers by request but a donation to id-Dar tal-Providenza,  Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. The family regret that they will not be able to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

TONNA. On May 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY ANNE, of Kappara, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Lucy Anne and her partner Manuel, her nephew Ben, her sister Lilian, her brother Arthur and his wife Maria, her other sister Matilde and her husband Paul, their families, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow, Thursday, May 17, at 2pm at San Ġwann parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest. A very special thanks to all the staff at Karin Grech Hospital and all the dedicated staff at ITU, Mater Dei Hospital.

CILIA – JOHN. Today the 24th anniversary of his demise. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Doris, husband Antoine and family. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

COPPINI – JOSEPHINE. Today the 39th anniversary of her passing. Fondly remembered and never forgotten. Martine, Noel, Melanie, Francesca and Julienne and Carmen, Petra and Justine.

COPPINI – JOSEPHINE. Loving memories of a dear sister and aunt on the 39th anniversary of her demise. Always in our prayers. Sisters Agnes, Vivienne, Lina, brothers Joseph and Stephen and their families.

CUTAJAR. Everlasting and treasured memories of JOE, a never forgotten father, grand­father and brother, today being the 21st anniversary of his death. Sadly missed but never forgotten by Rowena, widow of his son George, his sons Kenneth and his wife Marie Claire, Anthony and his wife Sarah, Gordon and his wife Karen, his grandchildren, brothers, relatives and friends. Grant him, O Lord, eternal rest.

GRIMA – VICTOR L. Remem­bering our dearest father. Always in our thoughts and prayers, especially on the 39th anni-versary of his passing away. Mona, Suni, Jojo, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and in-laws.

Philatelic Club meeting

The Bank of Valletta Philatelic Club will be holding a meeting at the Fatima Sanctuary Convent, Guardamanġa, this evening.
